Last week in Detroit at the North American Auto Show, Volkswagen unveiling the "New Midsize Car" giving it the Passat name. The new 2012 Volkswagen Passat is larger than the previous model and will offer more standard comfort and convenience features than ever before. VW plans to position the new Passat to compete price-wise with other popular family sedans like the Ford Fusion and Honda Accord.
Performance and Handling The 2012 Volkswagen Passat will have three available engine options. - 170 horsepower 2.5 liter 5 cylinder engine - 140 horsepower 2.0 liter turbo diesel - 280 horsepower 3.6 liter VR6 engine
These three engine options should satisfy most drivers' needs. The TDI diesel engine for Volkswagen is one of the most popular on the market for its incredible fuel efficiency ratings of 43 mpg highway. While the 3.6 liter 280 horsepower VR6 should prove to be one of the most powerful engines in the midsize class.
Comfort and Convenience Now with more options than ever the new Volkswagen Passat will come standard with features including power adjustable seats, power windows, and an in-dash CD player. Available options will include navigation, premium stereo upgrade, and climate control. The Passat will have true German quality finish work that with quality workmanship evident throughout the cabin.
