The cars' batteries can be fully charged in six hours with the option to charge it up to 80% in hour if there is a time crunch with its rapid recharge system. This characteristic enables Peugeot iOn, which is a zero CO2 emission car to be as comfortable and likable as any other petrol driven car. The car incorporates emergency call service feature, for which Peugeot is a leader in Europe.
In direct competition with the Joule is Peugeot's new electric car, the iOn. The iOn has a slight jump on the Joule because it will be available this year, but even though Peugeot has 15 years experience in producing electric cars, the Joule appears to have a slight performance edge.
Peugeot has been manufacturing electric vehicles since 1995 and has sold over 100 of its electric models. It was the first manufacturer to sell electric cars worldwide. But, iOn's range is only 130km and Joule is capable of twice that. UK reviewers have said it's a barely disguised version of Mitsubishi's i-MiEV, which is perhaps understandable when you consider that it was developed in cooperation with Mitsubishi Motor Corporation (MMC). However, the iOn is also a zero-emissions car and has a recharge time of six hours; furthermore, it can be charged to 80 per cent capacity within just half an hour.
In the UK, Peugeot opted not to sell iOn directly to consumers but offered an "all-inclusive" mobility package (£415 ex VAT per month) that allowed consumers to benefit from a special government subsidy. As there is no such subsidy in place in South Africa, pricing has yet to be determined.
The only obvious advantage that the iOn has over SA's Joule is its soon-to-be availability. The fact that this is the only obvious advantage is testament to Optimal Energy's dedication to creating a top-notch product. From a purely South African perspective, another two years is a relatively short time to wait for what is surely going to be the biggest new vehicle launch the country has ever seen. Your "green" conscious, on the other hand, may think differently.

If you are facing any problem related to your car mileage, then the automobile industry is striving to find out some suitable solution for it. After many struggle they have found a technology to eradicate this problem which is known as Hybrid engines.
Nowadays there are many hybrid models available in the market. And every automobile company has their own version of manufacturing hybrid engine cars.
Hybrid engine car is the prototype that amalgamates the power of a gasoline engine with the power of pedal of the riders. In fact, there are lots of hybrid vehicles around us nowadays. Most of the train engines ar
Hybrid engine is the key to the hybrid cars as it is much smaller than the engine available in the conventional cars; they are well-organized than the normal engines. However, to increase the velocity of a car it is necessary that the car should possess a huge engine, but in the case of small engine the velocity increase because they are small in size, light in weight and contains less number of cylinder which on the other hand reduce the weight of the car to move fast.
As the hybrid engines are small in size they are more efficient than the bigger ones. Let us come across with some facts of it: As the bigger engines are heavy in weight in comparison to smaller one, therefore the big engine car needs immense energy to accelerate every time.

2011 Peugeot 907 Concept
In today's world some people are deciding that it would be cheaper, in the long run, to own an electric vehicle and having to pay for gas in their cars. You can convert your gas vehicle into an electric vehicle fairly easily with the resources that available these days. This is of course if you want to take the time to build or convert your vehicle into an electric vehicle.

If you have to commute to and from work everyday then an electric car is not the best option for you. An electric car battery can only run for thirty to seventy miles per day. But those numbers could change also with different driving conditions. If you live in an apartment with no garage then it may be almost impossible for you to recharge your car at night. These are all factors that you should take into consideration before deciding if you want to switch over to an electric car or stay with your gas vehicle.

2012 Peugeot 3008 HYbrid4 Detail Review
The 2011 Fisker Karma will be the first car to be produced this year. However, it is a rather expensive car that will be sold in small numbers. Chevy Volt Mania 2010 will start rolling off the line in November. Nissan's all-electric Leaf will also be launched late in 2010.
So, it all started with the launch of the new Nissan Qashqai. It was a new form of vehicle that combined elements of an SUV with elements of a traditional hatchback - and ever since many other car manufacturers have followed...

Peugeot RC HYmotion4 Concept Racing Car
With Citroen, Peugeot RC HYmotion4 is a field that is increasingly cluttered with hybrid concepts using a new system that can take the road to be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show. Fortunately for Peugeot, they have managed not just recycle or rebadge an existing model, but have incorporated this technology into an boldly attractive four door GT coupe.
Peugeot has joined sister-brand Citroen by releasing a concept vehicle based on the new HYmotion4 AWD hybrid system. The new concept is according to Peugeot, a ‘Touring Car Coupe’ that features a number of engineering and technological ideas expected to make their way, if only gradually, into both of the carmaker’s future production models. Unlike the hybrid systems used by current production vehicles, this concept has no direct mechanical connection between the electric and internal combustion drive systems. This way, the RC can operate in either rear, front, or all-wheel-drive modes. That means it can also operate using internal combustion, electric only or blended mode combining both. Propelling this concept is a rear mounted turbocharged 1.6 liter engine driving the rear wheels and producing 218 hp and 206 lb-ft of torque. Up front, an electric motor provides up to another 132 lb-ft of torque and provides a governed combined production of 313 horsepower. This sort of power pays of with acceleration to 62 mph in a mere 4.4 seconds. The electrons are stored in a lithium-ion battery pack of an as unreleased size, but having the electric motor at the front instead of the rear axle means that more kinetic energy can be recaptured through the regenerative braking process. According to Peugeot, the RC can get 52.3 mpg with a minimum output of just 109 g/km of CO2 emissions.
Other Hymotion4 concepts in the mix for the future include Peugeot’s Prologue, which previews an upcoming 3008 crossover, as well as the Citroen Hypnos and C4 WRC rally car. These concepts, according to the manufacturer, are a synthesis of ideas that demonstrate a commitment to both respecting the environment and driving pleasure. If all of the technology that is used within this concept lives up to the manufacturer claims, the French may have the inside track in future hybrid production.
